An original mimeographed copy of VanValkenburgh’s landmark history of the NYS Forest Preserve, later published in book form. He was a long-time employee of the Conservation Department, a surveyor of lands to be acquired by the state, and long noted as one of the foremost authorities on the history of the Forest Preserve. He also wrote mystery fiction in his later years. This copy has seen little use or wear, and has only some discoloration to the blue manila paper covers, probably due to exposure to sunlight. Very good.
