Curtis, George William (1824-1892). American man of letters, lecturer, author; member of Brook Farm, editorial writer of Harper’s Magazine, editor of Harper’s Weekly. Signatures on two removed title pages from both volumes of The Memoirs of Richard Cumberland (London, 1807). The title page from the first volume also include the frontispiece and two preliminary blanks, with one containing a long handwritten quote concerning Cumberland from The Memoirs of Archibald Constable (1807) that is unsigned but in Curtis’ hand.
